창세기 18:16-21

16	그 사람들이 거기서 일어나서 소돔으로 향하고 아브라함은 그들을 전송하러 함께 나가니라
17	여호와께서 이르시되 내가 하려는 것을 아브라함에게 숨기겠느냐
18	아브라함은 강대한 나라가 되고 천하 만민은 그로 말미암아 복을 받게 될 것이 아니냐
19	내가 그로 그 자식과 권속에게 명하여 여호와의 도를 지켜 의와 공도를 행하게 하려고 그를 택하였나니 이는 나 여호와가 아브라함에게 대하여 말한 일을 이루려 함이니라
20	여호와께서 또 이르시되 소돔과 고모라에 대한 부르짖음이 크고 그 죄악이 심히 무거우니
21	내가 이제 내려가서 그 모든 행한 것이 과연 내게 들린 부르짖음과 같은지 그렇지 않은지 내가 보고 알려 하노라

 

16	When the men got up to leave, they looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way.
17	Then the LORD said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?
18	Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.
19	For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him."
20	Then the LORD said, "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous
21	that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know."

하나님이 아브라함을 어떻게 대하고 계시는지요? 일대 일로 대화 할 수 있는 동등한 인격자로 대해 주셨습니다. 감동적인 말씀이 있습니다. "나의 하려는 것을 아브라함에게 숨기겠느냐?" 라는 대목입니다. 하나님은 아브라함에게 자기의 일을 알려 주셨습니다. 그리고 아브라함에게 여호와의 도를 지켜 행하도록 택하셨다고 했습니다. 벨은 택함의 힘을 가지고 사는 사람입니다. 우리는 부족해도 택하여 주셔서 하나님의 비밀을 알게 하시고 또 의를 행할 수 있도록 만들어 가시는 주님을 찬양합니다.
